The University of Texas Biomedical Engineering Department, located on the sixth floor of the Center for Advanced Biomedical Imaging Research Building, provides laboratories for biomedical research space. The facility includes conference and classroom space as well as technical and administrative office support space. The laboratories and support space are designed to promote collaboration among the researchers through open laboratory spaces and gathering places throughout the facility. A portion of the floor is dedicated to the nanoparticle program of Mauro Ferrari, Ph.D., professor at UT-Houston and M. D. Anderson, director of nanotechnology at UT’s Institute of Molecular Medicine for the Prevention of Human Disease (IMM) and president of the Alliance for NanoHealth.
